Meet Chuck

I was born and raised in Gibson City, Illinois. Prior to attending college, I worked for four years in various factories in Central Illinois. I then enrolled at Parkland College full time in 1987, where I graduated with honors, then was accepted at Illinois State University, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude and was admitted to the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law - Indianapolis. I was the only child in my family to attend college. I am the product of my education, of which I am proud. I have practiced law in Bloomington since 1997 and own my law practice. I was appointed to the McLean County Board in 2011, elected in 2012, re-elected in 2014, 2018 and 2022. Presently, am the Chairman of the Justice Committee and ranking member on the Finance Committee. I was also Chairman of the McLean County Republican Party from 2014 to 2018 and I attended the 2016 Republican National Convention and the Inauguration in January, 2017.

During my tenure on the county board, I have advocated for YOU - the taxpayer, for common sense fiscally conservative policies. After all, it is your money. It belongs to you and you entrust it to elected officials to spend it wisely. As Chairman of the Justice Committee, I have been a tireless advocate for law enforcement, which has earned me the endorsement of former McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage and current Sheriff Matt Lane. They know of my commitment to public safety and support for law enforcement. I led the fight in McLean County for small businesses to stay open and survive in 2020. I am known as one of the more conservative members on the county board. Every time the rubber has had to meet the road, I have been a reliable, consistent, effective conservative. I have a record of it. Yet, when the opportunity presented itself, I have worked with the Democrats successfully to amend our zoning ordinances to protect our citizens. believe we work with them when we can and stand up to them when we must. I intend to represent ALL the citizens of the 88th District. Having been born and raised in a rural community, I intend to be a zealous advocate for the rural communities in each and every county in the 88th District. Finally, as a lifetime member of the Illinois State Rifle Association and Guns Save Life, I am an unwavering supporter of our 2nd Amendment.

My fundraiser from my County Board race had over 65 people, including McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder and her children.
